  • Accountability

    Accountability emphasizes the need to address disparities and inequity in communities, organizations, and institutions. Accountability requires focusing on building awareness of harmful racial incidents experienced and setting up practices to hold those responsible for perpetrating harm for such actions.

    Description : Establishing mechanisms to hold individuals and institutions responsible for racist actions and policies.

    Objectives: Implement transparent procedures for reporting racism, create clear policies for dealing with racist incidents, and foster a culture where racism is actively discouraged.

    Impact: Ensures that racism is not tolerated, and there are consequences for racist actions to foster a safer and more inclusive environment for all. We can work towards a more equitable society.

  • Narrative Accuracy

    Narrative Accuracy addresses the issue of representation within the educational and historical narrative regarding the past and present existence of individuals and people groups. It's vital to offer a diverse and accurate portrayal of history and current events to foster a more inclusive, informed worldview.

    Description: Ensuring that the history, narratives, and contributions to society of all racial and ethnic groups are accurately represented.

    Objectives: Revise educational materials to include diverse perspectives, promote media that portrays all groups fairly, and challenge historical inaccuracies and stereotypes.

    Impact: Reduces perpetuation of stereotypes, race based discrimination and biases. Build cultural competence by promoting understanding and respect for different cultures.

  • Timely Response

    Timely Response to reports and findings of racially discriminatory and/or inequitable practices is critical for stopping and reducing harm to lives and providing equitable care. This area calls for systemic changes to ensure all communities receive timely and appropriate aid. Communities plagued with slow and little to no response after experiencing discrimination and harm connected to racial bias must be intentionally restored to timely responses.

    Description: Addressing negative and harmful racial incidental reporting and systemic response for promptness and effectiveness.

    Objectives: Develop protocols for immediate response to racial incidents connected to racism and provide timely support for victims of hate and discrimination. Also initiate timely discussions and actions to combat systemic issues.

    Impact: Demonstrates commitment to anti-racism and provides immediate support to those affected, discouraging future incidents.

  • Intentionality

    Intentional actions to combat racial biases, discrimination, and hate crimes in policies at the individual and institutional level are necessary to counteract the long-standing effects of practices systemic racism and oppression. Members of society must be intentional about seeing others in the way they identify themselves as opposed to stereotypes and narratives promoted by the media.

    Description: Deliberate engagement that takes action on policies, system functionality, and operations aimed at combating racism to end systemic racial inequity.

    Objectives: Implement targeted programs to address racial inequalities, inequitable practices, apply intentionally diversified leadership and representation, and consciously create safe inclusive spaces.

    Impact: Actively works towards dismantling systemic racism and promotes equality and equity.

  • Reflection

    Reflective practices at the individual and institutional level can significantly reduce biased racial behavior and systemic practices, which often influence decisions at the micro and macro level of society function. Reflection must be done in a way that is meaningful and conducted in a safe space to help issues that need addressing with concern to trauma, and other racially sensitive subject matter.

    Description: Encouraging individuals and institutions to reflect on their own biases and behavior in relation to the role they play in perpetuating racism. Reflection must be conducted with the intention to produce resolution to problematic perceptions, behaviors. and outcomes of experience that are race based.

    Objectives: Facilitate training and workshops on unconscious bias, anti-racism awareness, and cultural competency to encourage self and organizational reflection to promote open dialogues about overcoming societal racism, inequity and unfair privilege.

    Impact: Fosters personal and societal growth in awareness of racial climate, racial dynamics in public and private spaces, and institutional missions’ efforts to lead in dismantling systemic inequity.

  • All-inclusive

    All-Inclusive approaches to addressing individual and systemic racism must include all stakeholders in the process. Those who perpetrate, witness, or experience racial discrimination and inequity cannot be allowed to opt out of the reporting and accountability process when a person is harmed. Similar to the see something say/do something approach all members of society play a role in helping end injustice, discrimination, and inequity.

    Description: Ensuring that anti-racism strategies are inclusive of all racial and ethnic groups. To ensure that minority voices are heard and there must be support from the community at large.

    Objectives: Create policies and programs that consider the unique experiences of all racial groups, involve diverse voices in decision-making, and ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities.

    Impact: Promotes fairness and reduces the likelihood of excluding any group from anti-racism efforts. Makes dismantling racism a collective effort.

  • Community

    Community development requires addressing systemic and individual changes at the residential level. A person or community should not be allowed to advance by causing harm or the downfall of another. Harmful tactics involving surveillancing individuals or groups to uphold systems that gain privilege by gatekeeping resources and access to disrupt the possibility of building equitable environments must be dismantled.

    Description: Establishing community well-being involves creating safe environments for all members to thrive. Building strong, supportive communities that stand against racism must be at the core of its function. The ability must exist that members can convene in safe spaces for smaller interest groups within the larger community so as long as the purpose of the meetings does not intentionally harm others.

    Objectives: Foster community engagement and solidarity, create spaces for sharing experiences and supporting each other, and encourage community-led initiatives against racism. Accept others who are different without mandating conformity. Allow members of the community to exist as they are so long as no one is being harmed.

    Impact: Strengthens social bonds at the individual and group societal level to create a sense of belonging for all and creates a united front against racism.

  • Integrity

    Integrity must be the centering guidance to remain within ethical practice when dismantling systems of racism that operate as injustice, inequitable, and unequal structures within society. The working definition of integrity must be inclusive of the equitable, ethical, and non-harmful treatment of people of every race. Individuals and institutions must educate themselves to build cultural competency and increase awareness of personal and societal biases.

    Description: Maintaining ethical and honest practices are a normal practice at the individual and institutional level in anti-racism work is pivotal to reversing the ways people and organizations conduct themselves within society. All people within a society must understand how treating others with the highest standard of integrity benefits everyone.

    Objectives: Ensure transparency in anti-racism initiatives, maintain ethical standards in all endeavors, and be truthful and sincere in commitments to anti-racism.

    Impact: Builds trust and credibility in anti-racism efforts.

  • Supports & Sanctions

    Supports & Sanctions highlights the necessity of robust support systems for those facing racial discrimination, inequality, and inequity within institutions or at the individual level and the importance of strict sanctions against discriminatory and intentional inequitable practices.

    Description: Providing support for those combating racism and sanctions against those who perpetuate it.

    Objectives: Offer resources and support for anti-racism activists and educators, implement sanctions for racist behaviors, and provide rehabilitation opportunities.

    Impact: Encourages anti-racist actions and deters racist behaviors.

  • Measurable

    Measurable outcomes must exist on initiatives set by institutions to track significant indicators of progress towards racial justice, equity, and equality.

    Description: Creating quantifiable goals and benchmarks to assess the progress of anti-racism efforts.

    Objectives: Set clear, measurable objectives for reducing racism, regularly monitor and report on progress, and adjust strategies based on outcomes.

    Impact: Ensures that anti-racism efforts are effective and continuously improving.
