Intentionality
Intentional actions to combat racial biases, discrimination, and hate crimes in policies at the individual and institutional level are necessary to counteract the long-standing effects of practices systemic racism and oppression. Members of society must be intentional about seeing others in the way they identify themselves as opposed to stereotypes and narratives promoted by the media.
Description: Deliberate engagement that takes action on policies, system functionality, and operations aimed at combating racism to end systemic racial inequity.
Objectives: Implement targeted programs to address racial inequalities, inequitable practices, apply intentionally diversified leadership and representation, and consciously create safe inclusive spaces.
Impact: Actively works towards dismantling systemic racism and promotes equality and equity.
